BANK CURRENTLY PENDING
The Whitewood Farm Mitigation Bank, a 365-acre site in Fauquier County Virginia is currently pending final approval by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and members of the interagency review team (IRT) to provide credits for impacts to wetlands and streams within its geographic service area (GSA).
The water resources on the site include the headwaters to the main channel of the Little River which is a tributary to Goose Creek and 59 unnamed tributaries. The Bank will be protected under permanent conservation easement.
Wetlands and stream mitigation banking have an established track record of success in restoring and preserving crucial ecosystems in Virginia over the past decades by combining the best of good environmental regulation and oversight with sound science and private sector investment.
